Dear Woodman Families:

We are official in May, and with the nicer weather comes one of the busiest times of the school year! The Wolf Pack has so much going on as we look to finish out the last two months of the year strong.  Now for some important news and notes:

Quebec Trip

We wish all of our teachers and staff going on the Quebec trip next week safe travels and lots of awesome experiences!! Make sure you have some Poutine for the rest of us. Reminder to everyone going on the trip that you are to be at the airport for 7am Sunday morning. They return to Calgary on Friday, May 8 at 8:45pm tired, but full of stories. Bon Voyage!

Cultural Potluck & Culture Day

On Wednesday, June 24, our Wellness Team teamed up with our Leadership students to put together a day full of celebration of the many cultures that are represented at Woodman School.

We warmly invite families and students who are interested in participating to either contribute a dish that represents their culture and/or create a visual display (like a science fair project) to share information and bring awareness to their cultural background.

Through the attached Google Form https://forms.gle/1C5Qr7o5PtEwQt179, participants will be able to indicate how they would like to be involved and get more information.

Currently, we are gathering interest, and if you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Reeves (mlreeves@cbe.ab.ca) or Mr. Homewood (smhomewood@cbe.ab.ca). We hope to come together to create a meaningful and memorable celebration of culture.

June Wellness Day

Wellness Days at Woodman have become a meaningful and impactful way for our students to connect, build community, and support their overall well-being.

Our final Wellness Day will take place on June 25, and the theme will be Celebration

The morning will follow a “choose your own adventure” format, where students can sign up for a variety of activities both on and off campus.

  • Some activities will involve a cost, while many others will be offered at no charge to ensure accessibility for all students. In the coming weeks, sign-ups will be shared through Google Forms, where students can select the activities, they would like to participate in.
  • Please keep an eye out for further information and note that we will also be looking for parent volunteers to support this day.

We look forward to ending the year on a positive, inclusive, and celebratory note together.

Track and Field Season

Track and Field is well underway, and it’s great to see students getting outside and active! Please remind students to come prepared each day with proper running shoes and a water bottle so they can fully participate.

We are also looking ahead to our Track Meet on Friday, May 29. If you are a parent or guardian who has completed a volunteer form and have a police check, we are looking for helpers to support events throughout the day. Please email Calum Heron caheron@cbe.ab.ca
