Thank you to families for participating in numerous evening meetings this week (School Council, Band Camp, Sailing Trip). 

Tomorrow, Fri. April 3 is a non-instructional day.  The main office and school email addresses will not be monitored. We wish our families commemorating Passover or Easter a special celebration.

Wellness Day

Fri. April 10 – Wellness Day

Wellness Days are vital opportunities for building community, providing health and wellness skills to students, and having fun as a school community.  During the upcoming Wellness Day on Friday, students will learn about empathy, cyber safety, anti-bullying and mental health. We will be joined by the following community partners:

  • Calgary Police Service Youth Link
  • Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth
  • Kids Help Phone
  • Emergency Health Services - Alberta

Students will participate in a volleyball pep rally and also have organized outdoor and active games.  Everyone should come to school dressed to be outside, with extra snacks and liquids.  

Pay Up Overdue Fees

In reviewing school accounts, we note deficits for various services, field trips, athletic teams and events that have benefited our students, and that have accumulated throughout the school year.  We request that families visit their MyCBE accounts and clear up any outstanding fees in a timely manner.

Math Contest 

Gr. 7/8 Gauss Math Contest – May 11

Gr. 7-8 Math teachers will be speaking with students to encourage them to test their Mathematics skills through a nation-wide contest on Mon. May 11. Participating students are requested to bring $5 to their Math teacher to confirm participation in the contest.  The school will be subsidizing a portion of the registration cost per student.  Let’s get courageous about demonstrating our knowledge in Mathematics!

School Council and WMPA Fundraisers

An extension was given to the Thai Manna School Council fundraiser, with a deadline of Mon. April 6. Families received a commercial email with more information. The Woodman Music Parents Association will launch its Growing Smiles plant fundraiser on April 10.  More information will be communicated shortly.  Thank you for supporting the efforts of our parent groups in raising funds to enhance learning opportunities at Woodman.
