A recommendation is being put forward to the Board of Trustees to relocate CBE Home Education from Windsor Park School to Bel-Aire School starting in the 2025-2026 school year. In addition, the CBE has developed a redesignation plan that would see Windsor Park School become a regular-program school for students living close to the school.
With Bel-Aire School being returned to the CBE from charter school use in May 2024, the CBE can now open up more than 200 spaces for CBE students. This is a welcome development given the rate of growth in the area and high enrolment at many CBE schools.
The proposed relocation and redesignation plan aims to balance enrolment and provide a more equitable learning experience for students at all affected schools. The schools affected by this redesignation plan are as follows:
- CBE Home Education
- Chinook Park School
- Elboya School
- Mount Royal School
- Rideau Park School
- William Reid School
- Woodman School
