Woodman Weekly Dec. 22 | Holiday Market Success, Casino Volunteers Needed, Volleyball Tryouts
Dear Woodman Families:
What a festive week it has been! The Student Holiday Market was a resounding success. The Learning Commons was filled with eager vendors and visitors. Proceeds for the Calgary Humane Society will be tallied in January and communicated with families thereafter.
We thank families for the many holiday gifts and greetings. Our staff feels appreciated and connected as a community. We spent time in celebration today. We also provided a special focus on being healthy and active – with outdoor play and exploration - over the next two weeks of break from school. We wish our students a well-deserved mental reprieve from the academic rigours of the last four months. If academic learning is undertaken, we recommend daily reading in English, French or heritage languages.
Woodman School is closed from Fri. Dec. 22, 2:00 to Mon.Jan.8, 8:00 am. CBE emails or telephone lines will not be monitored during this time. The next Woodman Weekly will be circulated on Fri. Jan. 12.
Take note of a few messages regarding the return to classes on Mon. Jan. 8:
8 More Casino Volunteers Needed - Jan 19 & 20, 20
24 We are still in need of 2 main volunteers for January 20 at 11am - 7:30 pm and 5 backup roles for January 20. We also need 3 backups for January 19.
If you are able to help us, please sign up below. Your time volunteering at the casino brings in $70,000+ for the school. This money helps purchase computers, musical instruments, gym equipment, and much more. Our last casino helped us put in the playground our students enjoy daily. To volunteer you do not need security clearance. If you are able to volunteer, please sign up at: https://signupschedule.com/woodmancasino or email woodmanvolunteers@gmail.com with any questions. Thank you for supporting Woodman students!
