Dear Woodman Families

It was a monumental week, with so many students out of the building for the annual overnight band camp.  The stories, photos and chatter in the hallway upon return confirm how memorable the experience was.  Thank you for entrusting us with your children and supporting us in developing their musicianship.

Note a few important messages for the week of May 12-15. Fri., May 16 is a CBE non-instructional day and there is no school for students.  Mon. May 19 is a statutory holiday and the main office will be closed.

Drama 7/9 Visit to Henry Wise Wood High School, Monday AM

Students are reminded to arrive punctually to school, dressed for the weather and in comfortable footwear. Departure will occur right after the entry bell and attendance (9:08).

Grade 9 Farewell Forms Circulated Next Week

This upcoming week Grade 9 students will receive all the needed information for participation in the classic Grade 9 Farewell tradition at Heritage Park.  The Tues. June 3 event, beginning at 6:30 pm, is hosted for students and staff, and celebrates the growth, memories and friendships that have flourished while at Woodman. Students have selected “Under the Stars” as their theme. Please submit forms to homeroom teachers by May 20 at the latest, so the school can confirm numbers with Heritage Park.  Payment is requested in MyCBE, in advance of the event.  We thank the Woodman School Council for their annual contribution towards Grade 9 Farewell costs. Leadership 9 students, through Healthy Hunger fundraising efforts throughout the year, are offsetting the per-student cost.

Touch Football – New This Year!

Touch football season is here! Tryouts for all grades 7,8 and 9 girls' and boys' will begin next week on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday after school from 3:45 to 4:45. All interested students are encouraged to come out, show their skills, and have some fun. No experience is necessary. Just bring your runners, water bottle, and a great attitude! You are welcome to bring cleats and gloves if you have them, but they are not required. If you have any questions, feel free to speak to Mr. Heron, Mr. Colbran, or Mr. Collings.

Pay Your School Fees!

Woodman is an active school, with many off-site learning experiences to keep things exciting for our students. Did you know that this year we have applied $309,040.00 in government-approved fees? Of these fees $287,711.00 have been paid. There are still $18,712.00 in outstanding fees. We want to thank parents who have made timely school fee payments in their MyCBE parent accounts and kindly request prompt payment for any outstanding fees prior to the end of June. Doing so allows us to clear up overdue invoices to service providers and launch new, enriched learning opportunities for the 2025-2026 school year.
